MC-3 North Fish Creek

MC-3 (North Fish Creek) Interceptor Evaluation
Trinity River Authority, Arlington, Texas

The project consisted of an evaluation of the western segment of TRA's MC-3 Interceptor in south Grand Prairie. The evaluation consisted of determining the required hydraulic capacity, the condition of the existing 40-year old interceptor, a comparison of rehabilitating the existing line and constructing a relief sewer or simply replacing the existing interceptor, and route selection for approximately 8,000 lf of from 15-inch to 30-inch diameter sewer line. Due to the location of the line along North Fish Creek with seven separate creek crossings, the existence of substantial wetlands areas, and the natural state of the creek area, it was recommended that the line be replaced along a new route south of the existing line and adjacent to a new commercial development along I-20 in Grand Prairie. Lee Head started this work while employed by another consulting engineering firm and completed it as a subconsultant with Head Engineering Consultants, Inc.
